Our main focus is Musical Theatre and Film Music. The genre is huge with many different styles of music. Many popular artists have now had musicals written around their songs, which opens up the repertoire even further.
Fees are £72 for a 12 week term. This is the preferred way of paying as we have costs (hall hire etc) which we have to pay in advance.
We do understand though that not everyone is able to do this, so you can pay half-termly which is £36. We never want to turn people away, so if cost is an issue please speak to one of the admin team.
Absolutely! Each member can come along free of charge for a taster session to get a feel for what happens at the rehearsal.
You do not need to audition, simply come along and join us.
There will be opportunities for you to perform at local events. There is of course no obligation to do this, however, it is great fun and helps to cement your learning.
The minimum age is 16 – there is no upper age limit.
We meet weekly between 8pm and 10pm. We will be there from 7:45 in order to start promptly at 8pm. We run throughout the year with a two week break at Christmas.
The best way to pay is by cheque or directly into our bank account. You can pay by credit/debit card – please note there will be a small charge for this facility.
We actively encourage everyone to join regardless of previous singing experience.
There is no requirement to able to read sheet music. Sheet music will be provided but if you feel more compatible with printed lyrics then these will be available as well.
We encourage members to bring a drink (bottled water is good to have with you while rehearsing) and a pencil to make notes. Music/Lyrics will be provided and these are yours to write on to help you remember any notes given. Some members bring a recording device to record their part for practise outside of the rehearsal.
